Everything hard is already built. Everything easy is switched off.
The Style Lounge holds a perfect 5.0 rating — the highest in Napa, ahead of the market leader's 4.6 — with clients who describe following Charlene for twelve years. It publishes its full price list, which only one other salon in Napa does. Its About page describes Charlene's blonding work more precisely than any competitor describes theirs.
None of it is reachable. Every page of the website carries a noindex tag instructing Google not to show it. The online booking system works and has no link pointing to it. One page publishes a Los Angeles address. And across six consumer searches tested live, the salon was named zero times.
[ Data verified ] Live fetch of all 21 site routes under four user agents incl. Googlebot · Google Lighthouse 13.4.1 run locally · Google Places API · Search Atlas keyword & Site Explorer · live Napa-geolocated SERPs — pulled August 24–25, 2026.
The five findings that matter
- 1 — The website is switched off to Google. All 21 pages serve
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">, confirmed served to Googlebot itself. Lighthouse fails it with "Page is blocked from indexing," Search Atlas shows 0 ranking keywords, and the sitemap named in robots.txt returns a 404. This is one toggle in Wix settings. - 2 — A live page publishes a Los Angeles address.
/mapdisplays "123 Serenity Lane, Suite 5, Los Angeles, CA 90001," a fake phone and fake hours — while the footer of the same page shows the real Napa address. These are the only opening hours published anywhere on the site. - 3 — The booking system is paid for, working, and unreachable.
/book-onlineruns live Wix Bookings with three working calendars and zero internal links pointing to it. Every CTA instead says "CALL TO SCHEDULE." - 4 — Charlene already wrote the winning words. Ask an AI who does blonde in Napa and it names Ōryn Salon, describing "lived-in blondes and dimensional color." Charlene's About page says "custom blonding, natural lived-in color." Same language — one is indexed, one is not.
- 5 — The competition is beatable. The third Map Pack slot is held at 38 reviews by a salon with a five-page website and no structured data, 460 metres up the same street. In all of Napa there are four service pages total, and the market leader's blog is unmodified 2018 demo content.
The headline opportunity. Three moves drive most of the upside: (1) turn indexing on and remove the two pages actively working against the business — an afternoon's work that moves The Style Lounge from invisible to competing for a 1,308/month term rated "Easy"; (2) put booking in the navigation, converting demand that already exists at zero build cost; (3) close a 30-review gap, not a 126-review gap — the market median is 38, and the rating is already the best in Napa.
Not a hair salon. A one-chair luxury studio — and that changes the strategy.
The Style Lounge is a solo-operator, appointment-only, private luxury hair studio: one chair, one stylist, by appointment. In its own words, "an appointment only Napa Valley luxury salon where elegance meets comfort... designed as a private, spa-like retreat."
This distinction drives everything that follows. A solo operator has a hard capacity ceiling. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00–6:00 — 45 bookable hours a week. At roughly 90 minutes per service, maximum throughput is about 30 appointments a week, or 130 a month.
So the goal is not maximum traffic. It is three things: fill the empty hours in an existing book; shift the service mix upward toward colour, blonding and extensions; and protect the time already booked. An assessment recommending "drive 5,000 visitors a month" would be the wrong advice for this business.

A pricing conflict that needs a decision
The hidden booking widget quotes different prices than the services page. A customer who finds both gets three contradictions.
| The booking widget says | The services page says |
|---|---|
| Hair Cut — 1 hr — $70 | Signature Women's Haircut — $75+ |
| Hair Color — 1.5 hr — $120 | All-Over Color — $150+ |
| Hair Extensions — 2 hr — $300 | Extensions — Consultation Required |
The booking descriptions ("Personalized precision cuts for a refreshed look") are generic Wix sample copy, not Charlene's writing. needs confirmation — which prices are current?
What is genuinely working
- A perfect 5.0 rating — the highest in Napa, ahead of the market leader's 4.6.
- Loyalty measured in decades — reviews cite "going to Charlene for years" and "the past 12 years."
- Published prices. Of fifteen competitor sites checked, only one other salon in Napa publishes pricing. This is already a differentiator.
- Genuinely distinctive positioning. "Private luxury studio" is a real position in a market of busy multi-chair salons, and nobody else is claiming it.
- The strongest About copy in the market — more specific about blonding than any competitor's.
- Clean technical hygiene where Wix handles it: HTTPS, HSTS, one clean redirect hop, accessibility 100/100 on mobile, correct canonicals.
- The phone path works. 31 working
tel:links; one tap to dial from any page.
The platform is fine. The settings are not.
The site runs on Wix (Thunderbolt server-side rendering) on a paid plan. Wix handles the basics well — and then a handful of settings undo all of it.

Core Web Vitals — measured, not estimated
Google's public PageSpeed API was rate-limited on the day of this audit, so these figures were measured directly with Google Lighthouse 13.4.1 run against the live site rather than estimated.
| Metric | Mobile | Desktop | Google's "good" threshold |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance score | 75 | 92 | 90+ |
| Largest Contentful Paint | 6.2 s Poor | 1.8 s Good | under 2.5 s |
| Cumulative Layout Shift | 0.001 Good | 0 Good | under 0.1 |
| Total Blocking Time | 150 ms | 0 ms | under 200 ms |
| First Contentful Paint | 1.8 s | 0.5 s | under 1.8 s |
| Time to Interactive | 14.1 s | 2.8 s | — |
| Total page weight | 3,393 KB | 3,290 KB | — |
| Lighthouse SEO score | 61 | 61 | 90+ |
Mobile Largest Contentful Paint of 6.2 seconds is the real performance problem — two and a half times Google's threshold, on the device where most local searches happen. Layout stability is genuinely excellent.
The weight is not the images, which are well handled. It is platform overhead: 254 requests, 2,327 KB of Wix runtime, roughly 435 KB of inline CSS, 65 script tags, and 463 KB of third-party POWR widgets.
[ Data verified ] Lighthouse 13.4.1, mobile and desktop, run locally against https://www.thestyleloungenapa.com/ on August 24, 2026. Failing SEO audits verbatim: "Page is blocked from indexing" and "Document does not have a meta description."
The desktop layout is cut off at every width
Measured across eleven viewport widths using Chrome DevTools Protocol. The page renders wider than the window on every desktop size tested.
| Viewport | Page width | Overflow |
|---|---|---|
| 1920 px | 2303 px | +383 px |
| 1680 px | 2183 px | +503 px |
| 1440 px (standard laptop) | 2063 px | +623 px |
| 1366 px | 2026 px | +660 px |
| 1280 px | 1983 px | +703 px |
| 1024 px | 1855 px | +831 px |
At 1440 px, a screenshot of the homepage cuts off mid-word: the hero reads "PRIVATE LUXURY H…", the button reads "CALL TO SCHEDUL…", and the navigation cuts off at "RETA…". The ABOUT menu item sits off-screen unless the visitor scrolls sideways. Mobile is unaffected.
Sixteen pages nobody can reach
Twenty-one crawlable routes exist. Eight are customer-facing, and five return HTTP 200 while displaying 404 content (/list, /thank-you, /plan-customization, /collection, /project). Sixteen pages have zero internal links pointing to them. The four that cost money:
/book-online— the revenue path./portfolio— 14 images of Charlene's actual work, still carrying the Wix boilerplate "Welcome to my portfolio. Here you'll find a selection of my work."/map— the fake Los Angeles address./list— a "PACKAGES" page that was built, then emptied.
Total unique body copy across the entire website: roughly 1,100 words — less than a single competent service page.
The Los Angeles page
thestyleloungenapa.com/map is live right now, returns HTTP 200, and displays this under a heading reading "Find Us":
contact@thestylelounge.com \ Tel: 987-654-3210
OPENING HOURS Mon - Fri: 9am - 8pm \ Saturday: 10am - 7pm \ Sunday: Closed
This is unedited Wix template boilerplate. The footer of that same page shows the real Napa address, so the page contradicts itself. Note also that the email is on thestylelounge.com — a different domain entirely.
Why this matters more than it looks. These fake hours are the only opening hours published anywhere on the website, and they contradict the real hours on the Google Business Profile (Tue–Sat 9:00–6:00). Conflicting address and phone data is one of the signals Google weighs when deciding which local business to trust — so this page works directly against the Google profile.
Trust defects a customer can see
© 2035 by The Style Lounge Napain the footer of all 21 pages — a future-dated Wix placeholder that reads as neglect.- The hero image — which is also the social-share preview — has the alt text
Untitled (Presentation) (10).jpg. - 26 of 96 images carry no usable alt text; where it exists it is often a raw camera filename such as
IMG_8027.JPEG. - The "More" navigation item opens an empty menu.
Two out of three, in the first ten seconds.
The test that matters: can a visitor arriving from Google understand what this is, why Charlene, and how to book — in about ten seconds?
Above the fold on a phone, a visitor sees the logo, the words "PRIVATE LUXURY HAIR STUDIO," and a "CALL TO SCHEDULE" button.
What works
- What it is — clear. "Hair studio" reads immediately.
- How to book — clear, if they want to phone. One tap to dial.
- 31 working
tel:links, header and footer, every page. - Published prices pre-qualify clients before they call.
What is missing
- Where it is — the word "Napa" does not appear above the fold, in any page title, or in any meta description.
- Why Charlene — no rating, no review count, no years of experience, no before-and-after work, no credentials.
- The 5.0 rating and the twelve-year client relationships are invisible on the site.
Conversion leaks, ranked by what they cost
| # | Leak | Evidence | What it costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Online booking unreachable | /book-online has 0 inbound links | Every after-hours booking |
| 2 | No social proof anywhere on the site | 0 testimonials, 0 review widgets, rating not shown | The 5.0 does no work |
| 3 | Portfolio orphaned | 14 images, 0 inbound links, boilerplate copy | The proof a salon sells on |
| 4 | No real hours published | Only the fake /map hours exist | "Are they open?" unanswered |
| 5 | Conflicting contact details | /map vs footer | Direct trust damage |
| 6 | No H1 on the homepage | Verified in the rendered page | Weakens topical signal |
| 7 | Desktop navigation cut off | Overflow at all desktop widths | ABOUT needs side-scrolling |
| 8 | Two different price lists | Booking widget vs /services | Pricing objection at the worst moment |
| 9 | © 2035 footer | All 21 pages | Reads as abandoned |
| 10 | Wix Chat unmonitored needs confirmation | Widget renders sitewide | A silent inbound channel |
The booking system is the single biggest leak. /book-online runs live Wix Bookings — verified: /booking-calendar/hair-cut, /booking-calendar/hair-color and /booking-calendar/hair-extensions all return HTTP 200 with working calendars. The page has no link pointing to it from anywhere on the site. The navigation reads WELCOME · SERVICES · RETAIL · ABOUT · More, and the "More" dropdown is an empty list. The salon is paying for booking software no customer can find, and routing every enquiry through a phone call that only converts while Charlene is behind the chair.
A perfect rating, and thirty reviews from the map.
The Google Business Profile is verified and healthy. The match was confirmed by exact name, street address and phone agreement across five separate query variants — not assumed from a single search.

Current Map Pack for "hair salon napa": Bloom (134) · Fika (77) · Panache (38).
| Target | Reviews needed |
|---|---|
| Match the market median (38) | +30 |
| Match Panache, the current 3rd pack slot (38) | +30 |
| Match the lowest count seen holding a specialist pack slot (17) | +9 |
The headline gap — 8 versus 134 — is misleading. The operative gap is 8 versus 38, because the third Map Pack slot is held by a salon with a five-page GoDaddy website, no structured data and a dormant Instagram, located 460 metres up the same street. On specialist queries the threshold collapses further: a solo stylist with 17 reviews holds two Map Pack slots, and one with a single review holds a slot for extensions.
The rating is already a weapon. At 5.0, The Style Lounge is tied for the highest in Napa and beats the market leader's 4.6. Nothing needs fixing about the service — only the volume of proof.
Review velocity is roughly 0.5 per month (dated 2026-07-31, 2026-01-11, 2025-12-02, 2025-09-28, 2025-09-26). At that pace, reaching 38 takes six years. With a systematic ask at the chair it is a two-to-four month project — and with a perfect rating and clients of twelve years' standing, the goodwill plainly exists.
The citation vacuum
The phone number 707-974-4943 returns zero results anywhere on the indexed web outside the business's own properties. The domain returns zero third-party mentions.
Present: Google Business Profile, own website, Nextdoor (2 recommendations, owner replied), Instagram. Confirmed absent — each one an opportunity rather than damage:
Yelp · Apple Maps · Bing Places · Yellowpages · Foursquare · Manta · BBB · Hotfrog · Citysearch · Superpages · Angi · Thumbtack · MapQuest · Birdeye · Vagaro · Booksy · StyleSeat · Fresha · Napa Chamber of Commerce · Visit Napa Valley · Do Napa · The Knot · WeddingWire · Zola
No Yelp listing is the most expensive absence on that list, because Yelp category pages are what AI answer engines quote in this market. Every significant competitor has one.
The brand search result is owned by strangers
Searching "the style lounge" napa does not return the business's own website at all. Nextdoor, Atly, MapQuest, Facebook and Manta rank above it — and position 6 is an unrelated San Diego business absorbing the brand's searches.
Worse: the Atly listing at position 2 states that "live music events occur every Friday night starting at 8pm" — a scraped-data fabrication about an appointment-only hair salon, and currently the second thing a prospective client sees when they search the name. Fixing indexation reclaims position 1; the Atly error needs a correction request.

The demand is concentrated in one easy term.
This market does not behave the way salon marketing advice assumes. Measured against live keyword data, the service-plus-city long-tails that most agencies sell as a forty-page content programme have no measurable search volume in Napa.

[ Data verified ] Search Atlas keyword API, United States, pulled August 24, 2026. Volumes are third-party estimates.
Three conclusions that shape the strategy
- One term outweighs a hundred long-tails. "hair salon napa" — 1,308 searches a month at difficulty 4 out of 100 — is simultaneously the biggest prize and one of the easiest in the market. There is no crowded content war to fight. The only reason The Style Lounge is not competing for it is the
noindextag. - Competitors have brand demand; The Style Lounge has none yet. "bloom hair salon napa" is searched 480 times a month, "bella capelli napa" 140, "bang salon napa" 110. No branded search volume was detected for The Style Lounge. Brand search is the compounding asset, and it is built by being seen — reviews, citations, Instagram, being named in "best of" lists.
- Do not chase "haircut napa." Those 320 searches are dominated by two Great Clips locations carrying 180 and 136 reviews — the two largest counts in Napa — competing on price and speed. An appointment-only studio publishing "$75+" should not spend effort there.
The Top 100 — clustered by job, not dumped in a list
Terms marked V have measured volume. Terms marked R have no measurable local volume and are targeted for relevance and AI answer surfaces, not raw traffic — they are how a page proves what it is about, and how an answer engine decides whom to name. Both matter. Conflating them is how keyword strategies go wrong.

The bar in this market is on the floor.
The single most important fact about Napa hair search: it is page-winnable, not directory-locked. On nine of eleven queries captured live in a Napa-geolocated browser, individual salons' own websites take organic position 1 and the majority of page one. For "hair salon napa," seven of nine organic slots are salons' own sites. This is the opposite of most local markets — it means a well-built website can win here directly, rather than fighting for a position inside someone else's directory listing.

The four competitors that matter
Panache Salon — the benchmark
- 4.9★, 38 reviews, 30+ years in business.
- 460 metres up Jefferson Street.
- Five-page GoDaddy site. No structured data. No service pages. No blog.
- Instagram: 464 followers, 46 posts.
- Holds Map Pack slot #3 on four queries.
- This is the entry price — and it is low.
Ōryn Salon — proof of the thesis
- 5.0★, 20 reviews — one-seventh of the leader's.
- Ranks organically for balayage, hair colour and extensions.
- Takes #1 for "blonde specialist napa," out-ranking Bloom's 134 reviews.
- Why: three service-level pages (
/hair,/nails,/hand-tied-extensions). Bloom has none. - Its titles do not even contain "Napa."
- If a page that thin wins, a properly built one dominates.
Bloom Salon — the leader, and beatable
- 4.6★, 134 reviews — the most in Napa.
- Strongest title tag in the market: "#1 Rated Napa Valley Salon."
- No structured data at all. No service pages.
- Blog is 100% unmodified theme demo content — nine posts imported on a single day in 2018 ("hair-trends-2018," "how-to-curl-hair").
- Ranks its homepage for every service query.
Hen House — the only bridal contender
- 4.7★, 28 reviews, 1,867 Instagram followers — highest in Napa.
- The only salon in Napa with a
/weddingpage. - The only salon with genuine local press (a Napa Valley Register feature).
- But: its wedding page title is simply "Wedding — Hen House Salon" — no "Napa," no "bridal."
- Not on The Knot or WeddingWire.
The exploitable gaps
1 — The service-page lane is empty across the entire market. Four dedicated service pages exist in all of Napa: Ōryn's three, and Hen House's one. No salon has a page for balayage, hair colour, colour correction, blonding, keratin, blowouts, men's cuts or extensions. Google is so starved of content on these queries that it ranks team-bio pages and Instagram profiles instead. Targets with no defended incumbent: /balayage-napa, /hair-color-napa, /blonde-specialist-napa, /hair-extensions-napa, /keratin-treatment-napa.
2 — Bridal is a destination-wedding market the salons have surrendered. Napa Valley drew 3.8 million visitors in 2025, generating $2.8 billion in economic impact. Yet on "bridal hair napa" and "wedding hair napa valley," every Map Pack slot is held by businesses Google categorises as make-up artists — not salons. Not one brick-and-mortar Napa hair salon appears on page one of either query, and no Napa hair salon is listed on The Knot or WeddingWire. The Style Lounge's website never mentions weddings, bridal or updos — not once. A private, appointment-only luxury studio is close to the ideal format for a bride wanting calm and exclusivity on her wedding morning. This is the largest untapped revenue lane in the assessment — and the directory listings alone are a same-week win requiring no ranking at all.
- 3 — Nobody in Napa publishes content. Bloom's blog is a 2018 demo import. Ōryn's events section has been dormant since 2019. Fika, Panache, Bang, Onyx, Shine and La Rouge have no blog at all. Among bridal freelancers, only one has a genuine blog — and she holds Map Pack #2 on both bridal queries.
- 4 — Structured data is nearly absent market-wide. The market leader has none. The Map Pack's third slot has none. Nobody in Napa has Service, FAQPage or AggregateRating markup. No AI Overview currently appears on any of the eleven queries tested — so the market is also unprepared for the moment Google turns one on.
- 5 — Nobody owns "the quiet salon." Competitor positioning is uniformly busy and social. "Private," "appointment only," "spa-like retreat" is a genuinely differentiated position with a real audience. Charlene already occupies it. Nothing on the indexed web says so.
- 6 — Owner-operator branding is winning here. Individual stylists routinely out-rank entire salons: one stylist's booking page out-ranks its own salon's homepage for balayage; a solo operator with 17 reviews holds two Map Pack slots. For a single-chair studio where Charlene is the brand, this cuts favourably.
- 7 — The bar for a working website is remarkably low. Bang Salon ranks on page one of five queries while 21 of its 23 pages are literally named
/blank-page. Bella Capelli ranks page one from an unmigrated.myshopify.comsubdomain.
Market context
| Metric | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Napa city population | 76,562 (2025 est.) — down from 79,246 in 2020 | U.S. Census QuickFacts |
| Napa County population | 132,949 (2025 est.) — down from 138,019 in 2020 | U.S. Census QuickFacts |
| Napa Valley annual visitors | 3.8 million (2025) | Visit Napa Valley 2025 Visitor Study |
| Visitor economic impact | $2.8 billion (2025), +2.9% YoY | ibid. |
| Overnight guests' share of spending | 88%, averaging $771/day over 4.4 nights | ibid. |
The resident market is shrinking. Growth cannot come from population — it has to come from taking share, which is exactly what the empty service-page lane enables. Meanwhile 3.8 million visitors a year represent demand that Napa's salons currently address almost entirely by accident.
[ A note on sourcing ] Figures circulating for Napa's annual wedding count and average wedding spend trace to secondary reporting rather than a primary source, and are therefore not quoted here. The bridal opportunity above rests on the verified visitor data and the observed absence of salon competition — not on unverified spend figures.
An excellent business with a configuration problem.
Strengths
- Perfect 5.0 rating — highest in Napa, ahead of the leader's 4.6.
- Client loyalty measured in decades ("the past 12 years").
- Published pricing — only one competitor does this.
- Genuinely differentiated position: private, appointment-only luxury.
- The most specific blonding copy in the market, already written.
- Clean platform hygiene: HTTPS, accessibility 100/100, fast desktop.
- Working phone path — 31
tel:links, one tap to dial.
Weaknesses
- Entire site blocked from Google by a
noindextag. - Booking system live but unreachable — zero inbound links.
- A live page publishing a Los Angeles address and fake hours.
- Only 8 reviews; velocity of ~0.5/month.
- Zero legitimate citations; no Yelp, no Apple Maps.
- ~1,100 words of content sitewide; 13 services, 0 pages.
- No analytics of any kind — no baseline exists.
- Mobile LCP 6.2 s; desktop layout overflows at every width.
Opportunities
- 1,308 searches/month at difficulty 4 — unlocked by one toggle.
- Only four service pages exist in all of Napa.
- Bridal is unclaimed in a valley with 3.8 M annual visitors.
- Map Pack entry price is 38 reviews — a +30 gap, not +126.
- Nobody in Napa has Service, FAQ or AggregateRating schema.
- No AI Overview yet on any tested query — first mover advantage.
- Only two genuine editorial links exist market-wide.
- Local award programmes effectively uncontested.
Threats
- Competitors compound reviews monthly while this profile sits at 0.5/month.
- Brand searches are being absorbed by Nextdoor, Atly, and an unrelated San Diego business.
- A third-party listing publishes a fabrication about Friday-night live music.
- Entity confusion — AI engines conflate Charlene with other stylists named Charlene, including one at a competing Napa salon.
- 21 spam referring domains pointing at the domain.
- Great Clips dominates the price-led haircut lane with 180 and 136 reviews.
- Every month unindexed is a month of compounding lost to competitors.
The engines are not ranking her poorly. They cannot see her.
Scored across five components, 20 points each. The methodology is published so the number can be re-measured and progress proven.
| Component | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Entity clarity & structured data | 1 / 20 | Only a 4-line WebSite block. No LocalBusiness/HairSalon, no Person for Charlene, no Service, no sameAs. No machine-readable address, geo, hours or price range anywhere. |
| Third-party corroboration | 0 / 20 | Zero legitimate citations. No Yelp, no Apple Maps, no chamber, no press. The phone number returns zero results off-domain. |
| Answer-engine presence | 0 / 20 | Tested live on six consumer queries. Named in zero. |
| Content depth & question coverage | 2 / 20 | ~1,100 words sitewide. No FAQ content, no service pages, no blog. Nothing for an engine to quote. |
| Reviews & social proof | 3 / 20 | 5.0 rating is excellent, but only 8 reviews, no review schema, and no proof displayed on-site at all. |
What AI engines actually say today
| Query | Who gets named | What the engine is reading |
|---|---|---|
| best hair salon in Napa | Bloom, Ōryn, Bang, The Reverie, Amplify, Onyx, Hen House, Panache | Yelp "TOP 10" pages, Fash.com, Nextdoor, Vagaro |
| balayage / blonde Napa | Ōryn, Bloom, Salon 1322, The Reverie | Yelp colorist category pages, Booksy, competitor team pages |
| hair extensions Napa | Napa Hair Extensions, Bang, Bloom, Bella Capelli | Yelp, Booksy, competitor sites |
| bridal hair Napa Valley | Bella Bridal, Rachel Lusk, Maricruz, Ritual Salon | WeddingWire, The Knot, Zola |
| hair salon downtown Napa | Bloom, Arrangement, Hen House, Bella Capelli | Yelp business pages, Vagaro |
| THE STYLE LOUNGE | Named zero times, in zero answers, from zero sources. | — |
The words are already right. Asked who does balayage and blonde colour in Napa, an AI engine today names Ōryn Salon and describes it as specialising in "lived-in blondes and dimensional color." Charlene's own About page says she specialises in "custom blonding, natural lived-in color, seamless grey coverage." The same language. The same specialty. One is indexed; one is not.
The structural point: AI engines are not ranking this business poorly — they cannot see it at all. It does not exist in the corpus they read: not on Yelp, not on Vagaro, not in a "best of" list, and not in a Google-indexed website. There is no path in.
An important distinction. Google's organic results in Napa are won by salons' own websites (§7), but AI answers are assembled from directories. These are two different surfaces requiring two different moves: a good website wins the first; citations and third-party mentions win the second. Both are needed.
The entity-confusion risk
During this research, search summarisers repeatedly conflated Charlene Saiz-Ferraro with other stylists named Charlene — including a different Charlene listed as a blonde specialist at a competing Napa salon, and an unrelated "Hair Salon by Charlene."
This is a live problem: a prospective client asking an AI about "Charlene in Napa" may be handed a competitor. The cause is simple. With no Person schema, no sameAs links, no citations, and an Instagram display name reading "Charlene Saiz" rather than the salon name, nothing tells a machine which Charlene is which.
The five highest-impact AI visibility actions
- Turn indexing on. Nothing else counts until an engine can read the site.
- Publish LocalBusiness/HairSalon schema plus Person schema for Charlene, with
sameAspointing to Instagram and the Google profile — this resolves the entity confusion. - Claim Yelp and Apple Maps. These are the sources the engines quote in this market.
- Build service pages with FAQ schema answering the questions people actually ask. Nobody in Napa has done this.
- Get named in third-party lists — chamber, Do Napa, Visit Napa Valley, "best of" roundups, wedding directories. Third-party corroboration is what an engine trusts.
One page is being asked to rank for everything.
The homepage and /services duplicate each other verbatim. Thirteen services share two pages. Total site copy is roughly 1,100 words — less than a single competent service page. Google has nothing with which to distinguish this business on any specific service.

There is currently no baseline at all.
Findings are separated by confidence below. Absence of external evidence is not evidence of absence, and this report does not claim otherwise.
Verified
Measured in a full browser page load, in which zero analytics requests fired:
- No Google Analytics 4
- No Google Tag Manager
- No Meta Pixel
- No Google Ads tag
- No call tracking (CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics)
- No Clarity, Hotjar, TikTok or Pinterest tags
- All three Wix custom-code slots empty
- No conversion tracking on the form,
tel:taps, or booking starts
Likely & requires access
Likely:
- Wix's built-in traffic dashboard is probably collecting sessions server-side — it does so by default on paid plans and would not appear in the page source.
- Wix Bookings is recording bookings internally.
Requires access to confirm:
- Whether Google Search Console is connected must not be reported as absent
- Whether Wix Analytics is actively used
- Whether the Wix Chat widget is monitored
- Whether Google review replies are being written
The consequence: there is no baseline today. Measurement should be established in week one, so that everything after it can be proven.
Twenty-three out of a hundred — and that is good news.
Coral ticks mark the 12-month targets under the roadmap in §13.
Weighted: Local SEO 20% · SEO 15% · Conversion 15% · AI Visibility 10% · Website Foundation 10% · Content 10% · Authority 10% · Technical 5% · Tracking 5%. Scores are directional, built from the verified findings in §3–§11. The 12-month target is higher than a typical assessment because the competitive bar in this market is unusually low.
What 23 out of 100 actually means
It does not mean the business is failing. A perfect 5.0 rating and clients who have followed Charlene for twelve years say the opposite: the service is excellent. This score measures the digital foundation — whether the internet can find, understand and book that service.
Right now it cannot. The single largest component of that 23 is one line of code telling Google to ignore the entire website.
That is unusually good news. Most businesses scoring in the twenties have a hard problem — no reviews, no reputation, a weak offer, a market that does not want them. The Style Lounge has none of those. It has a switch in the off position, a booking system nobody can find, and eight reviews where thirty-eight would win. Those are not hard problems. They are unopened ones.
From invisible to booked out.
Days 0–30 · Fix Now
- Turn on search indexing — enable indexing in Wix SEO settings; confirm the
noindextag is gone; regenerate and submit the sitemap; verify Search Console. Unlocks a 1,308/month term at difficulty 4. - Delete the fake Los Angeles page — remove
/map, or rebuild it as "Visit the Studio" with real hours and directions. - Put booking in the navigation — "Book Now" in the header on every page; fix or remove the empty "More" menu; reconcile the two conflicting price lists.
- Fix titles, descriptions and H1s — rewrite all eight titles and descriptions around service + city; one clear H1 per page.
- Publish LocalBusiness and Person schema — address, geo, hours, price range,
sameAs; Person schema for Charlene. Nobody in Napa has done this. - Start the review engine — systematic ask at the chair: QR card, follow-up text, direct review link. Target +4/month against a 30-review gap.
- Clean the trust defects — the
© 2035footer, theUntitled (Presentation) (10).jpghero alt text, five soft 404s, desktop overflow. - Install measurement — GA4, Search Console, and conversion tracking on form submissions,
tel:taps and booking starts.
Days 31–60 · Build
- Build ten service pages — Balayage, Blonding, Grey Blending, Colour Correction, Haircuts, Extensions, Keratin, Treatments, Blowouts, Hair Tinsel. Real copy in Charlene's voice, prices, FAQ schema, before-and-after images, a booking CTA on each. Not one faces a defended incumbent page anywhere in Napa.
- Build the Bridal & Wedding Hair page and list on The Knot, WeddingWire and Zola. The directory listings are a same-week win requiring no ranking at all.
- Un-orphan the portfolio — link from the nav and every service page; caption and alt-text all 14 images by service.
- Surface the social proof — the 5.0 rating and real client quotes on the homepage, with AggregateRating schema.
- Build the citation base — Yelp and Apple Maps first, then Bing Places, Yellowpages, Foursquare, MapQuest, Nextdoor, Napa Chamber, Do Napa, Visit Napa Valley. Identical NAP everywhere. Fix the Google profile's website link to
https://www.. Submit the Atly correction. - Audit and correct the Google Business Profile — primary category, description, services, attributes, photos, Posts, Q&A.
- Disavow the spam backlinks — 21 referring domains, all PBN/spam.
Days 61–90 · Scale
- Publish the FAQ and education content — the Tier 4 questions. Nobody in Napa answers them, and this is exactly what AI engines quote.
- Convert Instagram into a growth channel — 220 followers against 1,015 accounts followed, the only profile in the market with that inversion. Rename to the business, add NAP and a booking link, and turn the existing before-and-after work into gallery content, service-page proof and Google Business Profile posts.
- Run a Google Business Profile posting cadence — weekly posts, seasonal offers, new work.
- Pursue local authority — only two genuine editorial links exist in the entire Napa salon market. The award programmes (Best of Napa Valley, Napa Valley's Finest, Readers' Picks) are effectively uncontested.
- Re-measure — re-run this scorecard at day 90 against the same methodology.

The first five moves
- Turn on search indexing in Wix, confirm the
noindextag is gone, and submit the sitemap to Search Console. - Delete
/map— the page publishing a Los Angeles address, a fake phone number and fake hours. - Put a "Book Now" button in the header on every page, pointing at the booking system that already works.
- Confirm the real price list, then reconcile the booking widget and the services page so they agree.
- Start asking every client for a Google review — the gap to the Map Pack is thirty reviews, not a hundred.
The revenue case
Assumptions, stated openly. Every figure below rests on these; change an assumption and the number changes. Average ticket $165, derived from published prices weighted toward colour needs confirmation. A client returns 4× per year. First-year client value $660. Capacity ceiling ~130 appointments/month (45 hours Tue–Sat ÷ ~90 minutes).
| Scenario | New clients/mo | Year 1 new clients | Added annual revenue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conservative | 2 | 24 | ~$15,800 |
| Moderate | 4 | 48 | ~$31,700 |
| Aggressive | 7 | 84 | ~$55,400 |
Even the conservative case understates the position, because it ignores three effects: after-hours bookings recovered once online booking is visible; a higher-value service mix once colour, blonding and extensions have real pages; and bridal, which books in parties rather than singles.
This is a capacity business, not a traffic business. The objective is a full book at a higher average ticket — not the largest possible number of visitors.
Bottom line for Charlene. You have built the hard part: a perfect 5.0 rating — the highest in Napa — clients who have followed you for twelve years, a differentiated position nobody else is claiming, and copy describing your blonding work better than any competitor describes theirs. None of it is reachable. Your website tells Google on every page not to show it to anyone, your booking system works and no visitor can find it, and one of your pages says you are in Los Angeles.
Here is why this is worth doing now. The salon holding the third Map Pack slot has 38 reviews, a five-page website and no structured data — and it is 460 metres up your own street. The salon out-ranking the market leader for "blonde specialist" has 20 reviews and three simple service pages. In all of Napa there are four service pages, no salon blog written this decade, and no business at all on the wedding directories in a valley that hosts 3.8 million visitors a year.
The gap between The Style Lounge and the salons winning Napa search is not talent, and it is not reputation — on both you are already ahead. The gap is that they are legible to machines and you are not. Every one of those problems is fixable, most within the first thirty days, and none of them requires you to change a single thing about how you do hair. That is a foundation worth building on — and it is buildable in 90 days.
Let's talk about switching it on.
Thirty minutes. We'll walk through this assessment, answer your questions, and map what the first three weeks look like — starting with the one setting that is keeping The Style Lounge out of Google entirely.
